2017 Life in Review

This time last year, I would have told you 2016 was the best year of my life. And, at the time, that was true. But, 2017 hadn’t happened yet, and 2017 turned into the best year of my life. I couldn’t even have imagined all the great highs that transpired in 2017. Tom and I moved in together, went on oodles of trips to California, Indiana and Florida to name a few. We got our first home together this fall which was a huge life milestone. All in all, 2017 was incredibly good to us, and looking back on all of the moments that made 2017 so special really made my day!

Here is a look back at the highlights of each month…

January

In January we celebrated Tom’s birthday by going on an amazing Seattle brewery tour! It not only was a blast, but we learned so much!

February

In February we took an impromptu trip to Leavenworth! It was my first time going to this perfect winter wonderland Bavarian themed town and we’ve been back a couple times since because we loved it so much.

March

March is my birthday month and we celebrated by going to Oyster Festival in a nearby town. It was so much fun. And, we went on oodles of hikes.

April

The handsome hunk spent April working in San Diego so of course I had to come join him for some fun in the sun! While it was short, it was one of my favorite trips of 2017.

May

Worked with the AMAZING Acacia of Belle Hiver Photography to have our first professional photos done together. And, went camping at Fish Lake! I couldn’t choose between these two moments, which were so much fun, and such big memories of 2017! We went camping with my brother, sister and her fiance. Getting us all together made the weekend so special.

June

We took a trip to Indiana to visit some of Tom’s family. It was a total blast! We ate more BBQ at his family’s restaurant than I have ever eaten in a 1 week period, visited Indianapolis where we got to check out the famous Rathskeller and went out on the lake for fishing and fun in the sun.

July

I got to check off two things on my PNW bucket list in July. First up was visiting Finnriver Cidery! I had been hearing such good things about it for so long, and we loved finally getting to go. I can’t wait to plan our next trip back! And, then we also went to a summer concert at Chateau Ste Michelle. Imagine the perfect setting, a beautiful winery, now add in live music and sunshine. It was amazing.

August

Camping! We went camping quite a few times in 2017 but this was one of my favorites. We went with a big group of friends that Tom worked with as he was transitioning to a different job and wouldn’t be seeing these people every day anymore. The campsite we originally planned on staying at was first come first serve and was full. We ended up finding this campsite by turning down an unmarked dirt road. The results were epic.

September

Went to our annual Mariner’s game! Every year we try to go catch a baseball game for beer, hot dogs, sunshine (usually) and America’s pastime.

October

October was an insane and wonderful month. We went to Florida to visit Tom’s friends and family. The night we got in, there happened to be an Oktoberfest event going on that his friend had extra tickets to, which turned into one of the best nights of the trip. He took me to a Gator game at the University of Florida. And, I finally got to see St. Augustine! And, of course, we moved into our dream home! I could see myself living here forever.

November

November brought Thanksgiving and starting new traditions together. We ran our first turkey trot together before hosting Thanksgiving for the first time. It was a wonderful day!

December

December was the month of parties! We hosted our own holiday party for the first time. Had a blast at Tom’s work holiday party. And, then my work has two offices, so of course we had to go to both parties! We became Christmas party experts by the end of the month.
