The high waisted bikini trend is here to stay and I am all about it! High waisted bikinis are so flattering on everyone. I know my stomach is always the area that causes me pause when trying on bikinis.

I was always fit and proportionate for my body. I went through a few rough years and put on a ton of weight. To date, I have lost over 50 lbs. Which while makes me overly happy, also means things are not as tight as I wish they were. Hey, it’s the truth!

While I have worked hard for my body, bearing it all in a itty bitty bikini doesn’t make me feel confident. These gorgeous high waisted bikinis though make me feel like a retro movie star!

Fun fact, I worked on this post ages ago, but then life got so busy and it has been sitting here waiting to be published for months. You can tell because my wallpaper accent wall isn’t up in the pictures yet!

A note on sizing: I have a curvy hourglass figure with a fuller top and hips. To make sure that I feel fully covered I usually size up in swimsuits. Unless noted otherwise, I have sized up one from my normal clothing size.

Staring off with a bang is this cute little number! The bottoms were so flattering with a little ruching on the high waisted bikini bottoms, and I love the ruffle top. This comes in tons of different colors and patterns, but I love the green. It also has a few different options for the top!

If I was going to buy this high waisted Amazon bikini again, I think I would get it in the really pretty jade green color. This was right before my bachelorette party so I was looking for white bridal bikinis. I love the soft scallop detailing, the bikini’s texture, and the one shoulder. A word of caution with this bikini, while I think it’s darling, the quality is what you would expect for the price. I don’t think this would last more than one season. Some reviews talked about tearing, I didn’t have that as my experience, but I wouldn’t purchase thinking you could wear this for years to come. Based on reviews, I sized up two!

This is one of the high waisted bikinis I ended up bringing on my bachelorette party in Vegas! If you wanted it for something other than a bachelorette party, or honeymoon, have no fear, it comes in tons of other colors and patterns. I love this bikini so much I have it in my Amazon cart in other colors as well! It is so flattering, and be prepared for lots of compliments and people to stop you at the pool and ask where your swimsuit is from!

I loved the almost retro vibe of this gingham bikini with the high waist and the tie front. Perfect for lounging on the beach or by the pool!

This is the other swimsuit that came with me to my bachelorette party and sadly, it is the only suit on this list that is currently sold out. I loved the halter look though, and because I love it so much I wanted to keep it on my list and share a couple similar silhouettes (1, 2, 3).

I loved this suit! It comes in a few other colors and is so flattering and sporty! This would be the perfect bikini for a surfing vacation in Hawaii, snorkeling off the coast of Cali, or playing beach volleyball in Florida!

I loved this mix and match style high waisted, without being too high waisted, bikini! I always end up taking this cute suit on vacation with me, and get tons of compliments on it whenever I wear it.

This is another super cute option for brides! I love the lace detailing which reminds me of a Becca suit, but this one is a fraction of the price! Unless you a very busty, I would suggest sizing down one from your normal swimsuit size.

They call me mellow yellow in this suit! Except there is nothing mellow about it! This is a total show stopper bikini!

Between the smocking and the ruffle, this red high waisted bikini from Amazon is one of my favorites from this haul! It is so flattering and absolutely darling. It is super flattering and comes in a bunch. of other colors and patterns.

This bikini is one of the Handsome Hunk’s favorites! I took it on our recent trip this winter to Leavenworth and I felt cute and comfortable while sipping wine in the hot tub! The crossover top is so flattering and the cut out bottoms are something different and interesting.

Another sweet gingham bikini! Clearly I have a think for gingham! The ruffles are very sweet. I would suggest this suit for people with enough up top to fill it out since you can’t adjust it in the back.
