It’s the most magical time of the year! And, for good reason. Oh the glitz, the glamour, the Christmas party outfit ideas! There is hot cocoa brewing, fires roaring in the fireplaces, and sparkly party dresses a plenty. I love a good holiday or Christmas party.
With lots of parties to attend over the few couple weeks, I need a few different looks. These Christmas party outfit ideas could be for an office party, family affair, hosting your own shindig, or any other holiday festivities you have planned that need a little glam.
While, I may love a good understated look, I don’t think holiday party outfits are the time or the place for understated. It’s for statement pieces, sparkles, bows, and fringe! Christmas party outfit ideas should always have a little extra to make them more fun than a usual party dress.
Another thing to think about when putting your holiday party outfit together is the shoes. Now, I’m all for a killer pair of heels. But, you probably want to take into account what you’ll be doing at the party. For example, my office holiday party is an elegant sit down dinner. So, I could get away with some taller, pointier, more uncomfortable shoes. However, the handsome hunk is in the military, and his holiday parties are always a little more… livelier. There is booze flowing, and people dancing. So, I’ll take that into account when picking shoes. I do not want to be the girl at the end of the evening carrying her shoes around the party. 21 year old Jane wouldn’t have thought twice about that, 30 year old Jane wants to have shoes on at the end of the evening.
Accessories can always be more fun when you’re thinking up ideas for your Christmas party outfit ideas. I always love the whimsical clutches like the ones from Kate Spade. My steamer ship clutch is from years ago, but I love it just as much as the day I got it, and it always gets compliments. You can get away with a coat in a crazy color, fur, or something you might not normally wear at other times of the year. Really, anything goes.
Look One:
I love a dress with a dramatic back! Classic in the front, party in the back! Pairing a black dress with a pop of color in the heels and matching red earrings is a fun way to bring some color to your Christmas party outfit. Then, it is a holiday party after all, so you need a cozy coat. I love a little fur detailing in the winter months.
Look Two:
Let me say this one time, sparkles/metallic/sequins are always appropriate. Always! I don’t care if you are going to a gala or the grocery store. The answer to sparkles is always yes! I love this patterned dress that has metallic shimmer to it, a fun sparkly beaded collar, and, of course, gold glitter heels! I break these shoes out every holiday season. They are an instant classic in any wardrobe. They also look super snazzy with just jeans and a t-shirt. Perfect date night heels.
Look Three:
First off, if you’ve been in love with these Sam Edleman shoes, but not the price tag, stop what you are doing right now and get yourself a pair of these dupes! No one will know you spent a fraction of the price, they are identical! Now, back to the Christmas party dress, I love a dress with some texture and swish. A roaring 20’s inspired dress is the perfect Christmas party outfit for the night you plan on dancing the night away. I like a dress that has a nod to the flapper era, but doesn’t look, or feel, like a costume. A little vintage, but not too much, ya know?
