I live for date night. And, lately, I really mean live for. #Adulting isn’t always the most fun, so date night is what gets me through the week sometimes. My fiancé (read our proposal story here), Tom, is referred to around here as the handsome hunk, because, well, he’s a handsome hunk! The handsome hunk, is in the military, which means he can have irregular hours and spend time away from home. He recently got back from one such bout away, which left me date night-less for two months! Folks, let me tell you, it was rough. Imagine your favorite date night outfit, going unworn, for months.
Now that he’s home, I’m determined to make up for all the date nights we missed. He’s all like, can’t I just go home and sleep? Naw dawg. You left me dateless for months, time to make up for it! I kid, I kid! Sorta! He did take me out on a date on our way home from the airport after being up since 11:00 pm the day before. However, it was his idea! And, I did allow him to sleep afterwards. After, he went with me to have Christmas pictures taken, of course. But, then y’all, I really did let him sleep.
If date night is a love language, it’s mine. And, a great date night outfit is just the icing on the cake. This entire look is from Old Navy and is under $100! Assuming you own shoes. If you need shoes, you’re still looking at an outfit under $140.
I remember Old Navy from back in the day, and honestly, I was never a huge fan. But, lately, Old Navy has been killing it! This faux suede skirt seriously feels like the real deal, and is so chic. And, the long cardigan with the subtle plaid print feels elevated, the material is so nice and thick. I’ve been wearing it on repeat. Not just for date night, but also cozy hygge nights at home, to the office for a business casual look, and it’s the perfect length for leggings too.
