Are you guys sick of my date night posts yet? I hope not, because I live for date night. And, in my springdate night I talked about going on a date night picnic. It’s one of my favorite date nights in any good weather.
We have a park just down the road from us that we love to go to. It’s right on the water, with a sandy beach that is heaven in the summer. It’s also on the marina, so we get to watch boats come and go. It’s romantic, fun, and there is wine. Everything you might want in a date.
So what is in the perfect date night picnic basket?
Fruit – Something easy to eat like grapes, or berries.
Meat – A summer sausage is one of our favorites, slicing before you go on your picnic will make it easier.
Cheese – Because, duh! We bring along a couple cheese options. Usually something hard like a sharp cheddar, and something soft like an herb chevre.
Crackers or Bread – The vehicle to bring meat and cheese to your mouth. Nom.
Something Sweet – We like to hit up a bakery and pick out something small and indulgent to share.
Wine – Pick your favorite white and your favorite red, because variety is the spice of life!
Wine Glasses – I mean, only if you want. Drinking from the bottle is acceptable picnic etiquette. But, it can feel fun and fancy kicking off your shoes, and holding a glass of wine while you soak in the sunshine.
Sparkling Water – If you’re drinking wine, it’s probably smart to make sure you’re hydrated too. Bring along sparkling water. It adds a little fancy to your date night picnic.
Corkscrew – Unless your wine is twist off, make sure you pack a corkscrew.
Blanket – Blankets always come in handy. If there isn’t a picnic table, you can spread the blanket out to sit on. If you opt to go the picnic table route, if the weather dips, it’s nice having something to snuggle up under.
And, there you have it, everything you need for a perfect date night picnic.

It’s still a bit too chilly here for an outdoor date, but I will for sure be using these tips when we can finally get outside! Love your outfit by the way!

I LOVE picnic dates! We’ve been doing them together since we first met, and still really enjoy them. We also love to have wine, cheese, and meats.
