Well folks, as more and more states put into effect stay home orders to help flatten the curve of the Coronavirus, aka Covid-19, it looks like this is going to be our new normal going forward. And, if you have already been social distancing for a few weeks, you may be starting to get a little stir crazy, and missing social interaction.
Well have no fear, at least about getting your social time in, there are lots of fun things you can
Fun and social things to do while social distancing on a Zoom, Skype or Google Hangouts Call
Coffee Shop Date
Make yourself a fancy coffee and hangout with your friends just like you would on a coffee date. We have a fancy little but mighty espresso machine that I love to use to make fancy coffee drinks, like this real pumpkin spice latte. Or if quick and easy is your thing, this little milk frother takes any coffee to the next level. If you really want to have the full coffee shop experience, you can turn on some background noise that will make you feel like you’re at your local coffee spot.
Wine Tasting
Make it a weekly thing, pick a new wine every week that is easily available to everyone and wine taste together! You also could do a tasting flight and have everyone pick out a different wine. This might leave you with a lot of open bottles of wine, so I suggest trying small bottles or cans if you’re going in that direction.
Paint n Sip Class
Pinterest is full of gorgeous ideas for your own paint n sip class! My girlfriends and I use to do these at our homes, so just gather supplies, send everyone the picture, and have a virtual paint n sip class!
Bookclub
Just because you can’t meet in person, doesn’t mean bookclub has to stop! Fun fact for those who don’t know, in addition to running this blog, I am also in real estate. One of the broker’s in our office has a book club. She is in her 70’s and has had this book club with women she went to high school with! They have met for years and were so bummed to cancel their long standing tradition. But, then they decided to hold it via a Zoom call! Problem solved.
Mastermind
If you are a blogger or small business owner, you might be scratching your head asking yourself what to do in a time like this. Start a mastermind group! Get together other bloggers or small business owners to have weekly sessions where you can discuss your business, support each other, and strategize together. It helps being able to talk to other creatives and entrepreneurs who understand what you’re going through.
Have a Movie Night
Grab a group of friends, all rent the same movie and watch it together. You could make it into a drinking game, or just a movie critique. Many new releases are going straight to streaming which makes it a fun way to see new movies together.
Craft Party
Maybe you have a group of knitters, sewers, scrapbookers, or quilters in your social sphere. Get everyone together virtually and have a craft party. If everyone is doing the same craft, that is great, and you can help each other when someone gets stuck. Or everyone could be doing something different and showing thr group what they are creating!
Play a Game
One of my family’s favorite games to play is Farkle. And, the beauty of it is that you can play virtually, everyone just needs their own set of dice.
Trivia Night
Host a virtual trivia night! Get a few different couples/families involved. Each household can be a team. There are plenty of trivia questions online for you to pull from. Each week, someone else can be trivia master! It’s fun having rules where the losing team gets to pick next week’s theme.
Play Charades
I seriously can’t think of anything funnier that having people try to guess charades through a computer screen.
What other fun and social ideas do you have to do on a Zoom, Skype or Google Hangout call?

These are great ideas! We’ve done a lot of Google Hangouts as a family, and we’re actually planning to have a “Thanksgiving in April” party next weekend before Easter! It’s bittersweet – but definitely heavier on the sweet!
