Everyone knows and loves Valentine’s Day’s younger, cooler sister, Galentine’s Day. She’s a little more trendy, there is probably more sparkle, and lots more pink than with her older, more formal sister. And, that’s why it’s always fun to throw a Galentine’s Day party!
Recently, I had a women’s getaway weekend with some of my favorite ladies, my mom, sister, and brother’s girlfriend up in the mountains. It was a magical weekend away, up in the mountains, in the most serene setting, enjoying each other’s company. And, the perfect excuse to throw a Galentine’s Day party!
We all love to craft, so I decided that was the perfect direction to go for a Galentine’s Day party. Since we were all traveling, and having to bring supplies with us, I decided instead of trying to create a single craft for us all to do, it would be better for us each to bring what we were currently working on.
I don’t know about you, but life is busy, and I always have a half finished craft project laying around. In fact, usually there is more like 5. This made Galentine’s Day craft party a huge success, because chances are we all have that half finished painting, knitting project, sewing project, etc, sitting in the back of the closet.
For me, it was save the date cards. I decided to hand calligraphy them and needed a chunk of uninterrupted time to set everything up and get them done. My sister had been trying to fit in a sewing project, but between work, a new husband, and their plans to move, she never found the time. My mom loves to knit, but rarely has the time to work on her projects. And, my brother’s girlfriend makes the cutest handmade cards and needed some time to finish hers and color!
This was the perfect opportunity for everyone to bring the craft that they loved the most and get those half finished projects finished. And, if you are the one planning the Galentine’s Day party, doing a bring your own craft party makes planing a breeze for you! Some snacks, tunes, maybe a little decor and presto, you have a craft party!
One thing I made sure to provide was the wine. Sparkling rose to be exact. Every Galentine’s Day party needs some sparkling rose!
What craft would you bring to your crafty Galentine’s Day party?

Oh my gosh, I love the fact that you can address your own save the dates in calligraphy. It will make them so special. I wanted to learn to be able to address my wedding stationary, but I didn’t have the time/patients to learn yet. Maybe I would bring that to a Galentine’s date too!
