Part 3 of my sister’s bridal shower posts! See part 1 about floral arranging and part 2 about building a DIY mimosa bar!
If you missed part 1 and 2, my sister is getting married this summer and I get to be her maid of honor! Part of my maid of honor duties include throwing her one kickass bridal shower. Her and her fiance live on a farm and are growing all their own flowers for the wedding! She is seriously the next Martha Stewart!
We did floral arranging for our activity, which turned out to be a ton of fun! Way better than bridal shower games. And of course, there was a DIY mimosa bar to get everyone’s creative juices flowing. But, after all that we were famished and needed some sustenance. My dad is an amazing chef and volunteered to cater the event. Hayley brought fresh eggs and arugula from her farm that went into our menu.
High Tea Menu:
- Egg Salad Sandwich
- Blue Cheese Cucumber Sandwich
- Grilled Peach Salad
- Smoked Salmon with Balsamic Drizzle
- Roasted Artichoke with Hummus on Crackers
- Grilled Asparagus and Peppers
- Lemon Cookies
- Mousse (Hint these sweet little bite sized desserts are actually from Costco! They were delish and so easy, one less thing on your hostess to do list!)
The day was a big success! Afterwards we walked to the waterfront downtown area of the quaint town my parents live in, La Conner. If you find yourself in Washington, it’s definitely worth a detour for the day. The bustling downtown is full of unique boutiques and plenty of eateries that will make you want to stop and see the sights! Not to mention all the charming old farmhouses dotted in the community, and watching the boats come and go along the waterfront.
