I’ll admit, I can be a little woohoo. I genuinely believe in good vibes, that you attract what you put out in the world, and anything is possible with a positive attitude. So, honestly it seemed a little strange that I didn’t have a vision board. I set out to create one!
What is a Vision Board?
A vision board is an actual, physical board, that you place images and words on that represent your goals and things you want in life. It helps you set your intentions, and then achieve them.
Why Create a Vision Board?
The idea is, that by spending time to define your goals, and then every day, seeing these visual triggers of the things you’re working toward in life. It helps you keep these goals top of mind, and put them out into the world. Once you vocalize your goals and put them out there, you are more likely to achieve them. It helps you do the right things to achieve your goals, often without even realizing it. Seeing your goals every day will help you see the right opportunities when they present themselves and allow the universe to do its magic. Yeah, I know, woohoo. But, if it works, it works!
How to Create a Vision Board
First you want to become clear on the things you want. So, the very first step, is make a list. Write down the things you want for your future, big and small! Is it to go travel? Get into grad school? Buy a house? Get married? Make a career moves? Get a puppy? Save $X? Anything! Write down all your goals.
Next, collect images that represent those goals. Hit up Pinterest and magazines. Want to buy a house? Find a picture of your dream home. Anything goes! You can also find words and quotes. As long as you know what goal each image represents. Then, print or cut them out. You physically want these images.
Next, attach them to a board.
Put it in a place you will see it every day.
Let good things happen to you!
What You Need
My house has a classic, coastal vibe. So I wanted to create my vision board to match my home decor. I had an old cork bulletin board laying around, so I painted the frame the same white, Snowbank by PPG, that is all the white trim around our home.
I then choose a light blue and white stripe fabric to cover the cork. Cute push pins and washi tape help make the board come to life.

I did this with a friend when I was kid about weddings. It was fun! However when I actually got married I couldn’t find it…boo! But vision boards are awesome to keep your head in the game.
