Writing thank you notes can feel daunting. Maybe you, just got married, and you are so appreciative of all the sweet, thoughtful, and couple strange, gifts you got. But, you sit down to write and… nothing.
What do you say?! How do you write a thank you note?
My mom spotted this sweet little book that helped me tremendously writing thank you notes. And, it helped me come up with my own template for the perfect thank you note.
Before I came up with my template for thank you notes I felt really overwhelmed when I would sit down and try to write the perfect thank you note. I loved and appreciated all the nice gifts, or sweet gestures from the people in my life. But, I couldn’t figure out how to put that appreciation into words.
That struggle inspired me to come up with a thank you note template that I’ve been using ever since.
I finally sat down and got all my wedding thank you notes written and off in the mail this week. Only 8 months late. Oops! Someone told me that brides have a year to send out thank you notes, so I made the cutoff! I thought that this would be a timely post that may help others write thank you notes too.
So, without further ado here is my thank you note template breakdown to help you write the perfect thank you note.

Thank You Note Example for an Heirloom
Dear Grandma,
I am so glad you could make it to my birthday brunch! Your stories always liven up the party!
While your presence was gift enough, I was so sweetly surprised by the lovely broach you passed down to me! I can’t wait to wear it, it will be perfect for my sorority alumni group luncheon later this month. It means so much to have a piece of family history.
I can’t wait to see you soon, give Mr. Snuggles a pat on the head for me.
Lots of Love,
Your Granddaughter
THANK YOU NOTE EXAMPLE FOR Gift Card
Mr. Boss,
It is really touching that you take the time out of your busy schedule to remember all your employee’s birthdays.
I can’t even tell you how perfect the gift card to Steak House is. I was just talking to my husband about how much we love it there and haven’t been in a long time. Now we have an excuse!
It’s a pleasure working with you and I look forward to the company retreat next month.
Warmly,
First & Last Name

Dear blogger,
It is amazing how you always seem to post on something that is perfect for what is going on in my life right at the moment. Thank you so much for all your work in researching, writing and photographing your posts. Due to the coronavirus lockdown I have some extra time on my hands so I will be pulling out my fountain pen and stash of pretty cards to put your template to work. Looking forward to reading your next perfect blog topic!
Warm regards,

I honestly write thank you notes for everything. I’ll also admit that it makes me a bit bitter when people don’t write them for gifts I’ve given, especially when I know deep down some are only having a party for a present. I’ve vowed to never do that!
