Living in the Pacific Northwest, where it is dark, cold, and rainy so much of the year, I have embraced the art of hygge. Hygge is the search for coziness. Think being bundled up in front of a fire, with a cozy blanket, while sipping on something warm and enjoying an evening with friends. Even the darkest of winters seem pretty lovely when that’s how you’re spending them!
For the hygge lover in your life, gifts are so easy! Think of anything that will bring people together and help in being cozy. And, that’s really it! The best part about hygge gifts are they are often meant to be enjoyed with others, so giving a beautiful baking and serving dish combo means there is a good chance you’ll get something yummy out of the deal. Win-win all around.
I love this faux fur throw blanket because it’s so soft and warm for cool evenings. Imagine being in front of the fire, curled up with a cup of hot cocoa, topped with marshmallows, talking with friends, and playing a board game. Now if that isn’t the perfect winter evening, I don’t know what is!
One thing I’ve really embraced in the past few months are essential oils. I love diffusing something that lifts my spirits, and makes the whole house smell heavenly. I can sit back and sip on some savory tea, which by the way, is amazing, and enjoy the candle light.
With the holidays right around the corner, it can be stressful figuring out what to buy loved ones, or yourself (because you deserve a little something too!). But, don’t stress, that’s the opposite of having a cozy, casual, hygge Christmas season!
