Decorating for the holidays is one of my absolute favorite things to do each year. I brew myself a mug of my favorite tea, grab the boxes from storage, put on some holiday music, and decorate for Christmas! I’ve always been drawn to neutral Christmas decor, using gray, white, taupe, gold and silver. Beyond that, there isn’t too much of a theme. If I love something, I make it fit. Which is my usual for styling decor, or my wardrobe. There is always room for something I love, even if it doesn’t fit the aesthetic perfectly. That’s what makes you, you, and unique.
Having a base of neutral Christmas decor, means it’s easy to add in a little bling, and pops of color here and there. I love how the mostly white and tan decor makes the stitching on the pillows pop, or the green in the mistletoe ball.
Of course, it has to smell like Christmas too! If you’ve been here long, you know I love essential oils. And, this Evergreen Dream oil is my absolute favorite to get me in the holiday mood. It smells like your house is a winter wonderland forest.
Pro tip: Don’t feel like you have to go get everything all at once and spend your life savings on Christmas decorations. You have the rest of your life to decorate for Christmas! When the handsome hunk and I spent our first Christmas together, we had a tree, with lights, and that was it! No ornaments. And, you know what, it was beautiful anyways. Over the years we have been adding to our collection. Every season, after Christmas I go hit up all Christmas clearance and have found some of my favorite pieces that way. We are slowly building our Christmas decorations, which I think makes it more meaningful, and means we can get a few quality pieces, instead of buying junk because we are buying so much at once.
Another place I love getting Christmas decor is TJ Maxx, they always have great prices and some of the cutest stuff!
A mantel scarf is one of my favorite pieces, if you have a fireplace, it completely transforms the mantel, and is so easy. This version is so fun and would add some bling to to your neutral Christmas decor.
We always get a live tree, so that won’t be up for a few more weeks, and I’ll share once that is up. Tom and I have started a tradition of picking up ornaments on our trips. It makes for a fun time when we unpack the ornaments and remember where we got each one.

I love this!!! I’d love to do all white but my life (drooling basset hounds and a toddler) doesn’t always think the same!

I’m with you on the color scheme!!! Love your cushion covers and argh, I so wish we had a TJ Maxx or Target to pick up decorations. It’s astronomical here and not much variety. Sigh. Can’t wait to see the tree!
