Let’s take a look at an honest Stitch Fix review and what you can expect from your first box.
Skip it all and order Stitch Fix here.
I’ve been intrigued by Stitch Fix for years. I love the idea of it, personally styled pieces from a professional sent to your home. While, I love shopping, I also live in a very rural area, and am very busy. The closest mall is 20 miles, and believe me, that isn’t exactly a glamorous mall. The closest good mall is closer to 70 miles away. Oh the joys of rural life. Don’t get me wrong, I love living in a small fishing town on an island in the middle of the Pacific Northwest. But, it isn’t the most ideal for shopping.
Then of course is the busy schedule. Life is so busy! How did our grandmother’s have time to MAKE their clothes?! I can barely find time to wash mine. Please, please, please tell me I’m not the only person who has bought new undies because they just weren’t mentally prepared to deal with the mountain of laundry they accumulated? Anyone? Anyone at all?
So, these were my reasons for wanting to try out Stitch Fix, and once I did, I thought what could be better than to share the wealth with a Stitch Fix review? So, let’s break it down.
How do I sign up?
Well I’m so glad you asked! You sign up for Stitch Fix right here! When you go through the signup process, one thing that I totally wasn’t expecting is how in depth the questions are. They aren’t just asking for your size, they want to know if you have a long torso, or broad shoulders, if you liked your arms covered, etc. I was really impressed that they asked these questions and they picked better pieces for me because of it.
What do you get?
When you’re going through the signup process, you tell them what your style is, and they have examples where you tell them if you like the pieces or not. So, it is completely personalized to you! That means the items in my box are going to be completely different than the items you receive.
Let’s take a look at what I got.
I am really happy with my pieces! I got a cold shoulder shirt, two dresses, a fringe necklace and a faux suede jacket. See the try on video on IGTV!
One thing you should definitely take advantage of is the notes section to send to your stylist. I told my stylist that my fiancé had just come home from being away so I wanted date night outfits, and items suitable for upcoming parties. I also told them I didn’t want anything boxy, as it doesn’t work well with my hourglass figure.
What do I do with items I love or want to return?
If you love everything, you get 25% off if you keep it all! That’s a pretty good deal to me. If I’m going to buy something, I like getting it on sale. If you don’t love something though, it’s super easy to send back! They give you a prepaid, addressed package to send back anything you don’t want to keep.
How much does it cost?
That is up to you! When you go through the signup process, you tell them how much you want to spend on individual items.
Let’s look at my cost breakdown:
Cold Shoulder Shirt $38
Color Block Dress $64
Fringe Necklace $28
Floral Dress $54
Faux Suede Jacket $88
Subtotal $272
Discount (25%) -$68
Total $204
I was super happy with all my items. The only item I was on the fence about was the cold shoulder top. I loved it on, but it isn’t something I ever would have grabbed for myself. However, I saved more by keeping the top and getting the 25% discount for ordering everything. And, good thing too, because I’ve worn the top non-stop since receiving the box!
I don’t want another subscription
Girl, I get you. I am right there with you! I hate that everything seems to be a subscription model these days. And, this was honestly one of the things that made me say, maybe Stitch Fix isn’t for me. Hey, this is an honest Stitch Fix review after all! But, I was over the moon when I found out that you don’t have to be on a subscription! You can choose to have boxes only sent on request. Or if you are more of a set it and forget it kinda gal, they have different options for how often you would like to receive your Stitch Fix box.
So what’s the catch?
So, really, there is no catch. I will say that this doesn’t exactly have an amazing turn around time. You can request that your box be rushed. But, if you NEED an outfit for that cousin’s wedding, the big interview, or whatever, and you’re on a deadline, this probably isn’t going to be the best bet.
So, after reading this Stitch Fix review, what are your thoughts? Ready to order? Check out Stitch Fix!

Stitch Fix is the best! I’ve had mine subscription since last summer. They always send the cutest clothes plus jeans/pants that fit my tiny frame.

I’ve always been on the fence about trying Stitch Fix, I may just have to give it a shot.
