Holidays can be a struggle with what to wear. I know I ping pong back and forth between the two extremes, and I think a lot of other women do too. Part of me wants to dress to the nines, wear the best party dress you have ever seen! Look like something out of a 1940’s Hollywood movie and spend time curating the perfect hairstyle to go along with it. The other part of me wants to hygge all the way in my favorite Zella yoga pants, a cozy sweater and #longhairdontcare.
Striking a balance that keeps both sides of me happy can be hard.
I love this outfit because it looks put together and a perfect Thanksgiving day outfit. But, upon closer look, it’s actually really comfortable. The cable knit leggings are fleece lined! That makes them extra warm and cozy for a Thanksgiving day outfit. The circle skirt is both flattering and forgiving when you go in for a second or third helping. While I’m a huge fan of boots, the heel plays a big part in making this a comfortable Thanksgiving day outfit. The heel is only 1″ which means you can walk around in these bad boys all day without feeling fatigued. And, this purse is quickly becoming my go to favorite. It’s the perfect size to carry a full size wallet, sunglasses (which of course I need in the middle of rainy season!), and my phone with a few extra little goodies.
This will be my first year hosting Thanksgiving. Overall, I am so excited. We are going to have a full house. So much so that I realized we didn’t have enough dishes! Any excuse though for a Crate & Barrel run, am I right? Seriously how cute are these dishes? We got them in dark blue. I’ve been dreaming about, and pinning tablescapes galore. Plus, the funnest part of any holiday, coming up with a signature cocktail. I’m also wondering if both Tom and I had a moment of brain deadness when we offered to host. We moved into our new house only 2 weeks ago and the house is still a disaster. There are boxes everywhere, no art up on the walls, and the fence that I had hoped would be done by now, hasn’t even been started. Oy vey!
Do you like to host Thanksgiving dinner or go to someone else’s home?

This outfit is cute and comfortable. I am a huge fan of crossbody bags as well. Thank you for the suggestions, it’s a fine balance deciding between comfort and style at Thanksgiving. Especially, if we are taking family pictures. 🙂

I’m a huge fan of going out for Thanksgiving. Maybe that’s lame, but the last thing I want to do is spend all day cooking just to have it eaten in 20 minutes.
Love the color combo in your outfit

You are too cute for words! What a fab outfit! In the last four years, we’ve been traveling and going out to eat for Thanksgiving – and thinking about doing that next week here in South Korea too. I would LOVE to host one day, especially when I have an oven again (ovens aren’t a typical South Korean thing, go figure…I only have a giant lightwave/microwave oven).

Those are perfect fall colors. I haven’t dressed up for Thanksgiving in I don’t know how long. But I would wear that! Adorable!
