Yield:8 soft pretzels 1x
Category:Appetizer or Entree
2 1/2 (298g) cups all purpose flour
1 tsp salt
1 tsp sugar
2 1/4 (7g) tsp instant yeast
7/8 to 1 (198g to 227g) cups warm water
1 (227g) cup boiling water
2 (28g) tbs baking soda
sprinkle coarse salt
1 1/2 (22g) tbs melted butter
Place flour, salt, sugar, yeast, and warm water into your bread machine. Choose the dough setting. Let the dough cycle run.
Take dough out of machine and place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 30 minutes.
Combine the boiling water and baking soda in an 8x8ish pan. Make sure the baking soda is completely dissolved. Set the mixture aside to cool.
Preheat oven to 475 and grease a baking pan.
Lightly grease a work surface and place dough on it. Divide into 8 equal pieces. Let the pieces rest for 5 minutes.
Roll each piece of dough into a rope about 2 ft long, and twist each rope into a pretzel shape. Place pretzels 4ish at a time into the pan of baking soda and water, spooning the water over the top for 2 minutes.
Place pretzels on the baking dish.
Sprinkle with salt.
Rest for 10 minutes.
Bake for 8-9 minutes until golden brown.
Take pretzels out of the oven and brush with melted butter.
