We are back with another edition of The Picnic Chronicles! I started The Picnic Chronicles series as a way to showcase simple, easy breezy, picnics that elevate the every day, but in a way that fits into a modern schedule.
This month’s picnic was a French themed picnic. Or really, a European themed picnic.
As you may know, our honeymoon was postponed due to Covid-19. Thanks, Rona. We were suppose to go on a whirlwind trip around Europe for our honeymoon, and were starting in Paris. But, clearly, that didn’t happen. So, one evening, we decided to have a little French themed picnic, with bread, cheese and wine.
Now, you may laugh a little, but, remember, I live in a small town so locating items for this picnic proved to have some difficulty. Ideally, all of our ingredients would have been truly French. French wine & cheeses. However, those aren’t always easy to find on a small, rural island, so I did the best I could and called it good enough. And, you know what, when I couldn’t find a true French cheese, my English and local cheeses ended up being just as tasty. And, when I saw fresh dolmas at the store, I said what the heck, those look good too! And, they were.
The idea isn’t to strive for perfection. It’s to have fun. It’s to elevate the everyday, making it easy, approachable, and most importantly, fun! Fun trumps perfect every time.

To top it off, we rented a movie that took place in France on Amazon. And, while it wasn’t the honeymoon we dreamed of, it will help tide us over until we get there for real.
