If you know me, you know I am obsessed with photographs. I currently have over 40,000 photos on my phone and counting. I want to remember every moment. Saving these photos is a way for me to remember snapshots in time, and helps me remember moments that would be all too easy to forget otherwise.
So, the portraits section of our wedding was really important to me. I wanted to make sure that I had photos of all our family to look back on 50 years from now. And, of course, a million or so photos of us on the happiest day of our lives.
I spent ages looking at wedding portraits I loved, different ideas, and poses. But, when it came to the day of, I was just too happy to honestly care about posing, and the outcome was perfect. The photos are so us, so real, and not at all forced.
What I did make sure to come up with though is a list of all the family portraits I wanted. My photographer suggested doing this and it was a life saver. One, your brain does not work on your wedding day. You’re just so happy that you’re delirious. I would absolutely have forgotten people. In fact, even after making the list there were two I had forgotten. Luckily, we were able to make both of those happen day of. Having the list ahead of time also made it so much easier the day of. I printed off our list, gave it to my brother in law and he wrangled everyone so all we had to do was worry about standing and smiling.
