If you know anything about me, it should be these three things, I’m a big believer in #WineOClock, I love horses (I’ve been asking for one for Christmas since I was 5, next year!) and I live for vacations. I think I’m French at heart, did you know they get on average 41 days of paid vacation per year?! Sign me up! While I don’t think my 4 years of high school Spanish will help me move to France, I can still come up with some great vacation plans. Here’s what I’m thinking…

2017 vacation plans

mexico beach vacation

Mexico

As far as vacation plans go, this is the one I’m most excited about. The Handsome Hunk and I have been talking about taking a real vacation sometime this year and I think we’ve settled on Mexico. Some sunshine, sand, and fruity cocktails on the beach. Ahh yes please! I haven’t been to Mexico since college spring break, so I am really looking forward to this! I love the idea of seeing Myan ruins, exploring a different culture and mostly having time away with my best friend.

oregon jamboree country music festival

Music Festival

Oregon Jamboree here we come for 3 days of hot weather and country music in the Oregon countryside. It’s one of my favorite music festivals and I can’t wait to sing along with Kenny Rogers and Jason Aldean! We’re planning on camping all weekend, and bringing the boat to take out on the lake between acts. Plus, I won’t lie, fun outfits for music festivals is one of my favorite parts of going!

kayak lake vacation

Lake House

The Handsome Hunk and I went to Florida to visit one side of his family last year and have been talking about going to Indiana to see the rest of his family where we would be spending time at their lake house. Boating around a lake in the sunshine sounds like a perfect summer trip! Plus, I think it would be really fun to spend more time with his family. Mine lives a town over so we spend a lot of time with them. But, all of his family is scattered on the other side of the country and even world.

portland oregon weekend getaway

Portland

Portland is fairly close and perfect for a long weekend getaway. There is so much to do, and it’s slightly different scenery than Seattle which makes it a little more exciting. There are tons of great restaurants, hikes, wineries, and of course, Voodoo Doughnuts!

camping vacation

Camping

Camping weekend! The Handsome Hunk and I are planning on going camping with my sister and her boyfriend over on the eastern side of the state. If you haven’t been to Washington, most people think of rainy, overcast Seattle. But, that’s just the western side of the state. The eastern side is high desert, hot, and sunny! It will be so much fun! We are thinking about camping on a lake, bringing some kayaks, and spending the whole weekend paddling around and cooking around the fire. And,wine. Lots of wine.

This year we are focusing on traveling the East Coast. I’m super excited to see some history and iconic US travel locations. Although, I wouldn’t mind paddling around in some kayaks on a gorgeous lake!

Travel planning has to be one of my favorite things and you have some fun things lined up for the year. I’ve been dying to go to Mexico. Funny enough I just put together my 2017 travel plans scheduled to post on Wednesday.

These are such fun plans!! You should look into adding Vienna to your list, too! 😉 We don’t really have plans yet … we’ll probably go to Slovakia in the spring and maybe will hit a few neighboring countries in the summer, but nothing’s for sure yet.

My brother is getting married in Florida so we’re planning on a road trip there. Very ambitious but after 3 years in Hawaii, I think it’ll be fun!

All of this sounds awesome! I just love Portland. I’ve only been there once but I would love to go back. This year everything is really up in the air, but I am planning a trip to another Hawaiian island with a friend during the summer and I am so excited for it. I’m also trying to plan a trip with my mom sometime in the fall, and I’m going home to New York in the spring!

We went to Mexico a few summers ago. Loved it. I love the idea of a peaceful lake house vacation. We are ALL ABOUT vacation. My husband is currently living abroad so we haven’t been able to plan anything, which sucks, because I’m always planning something, but we may be cooking something up soon.

We don’t have any plans yet because I think we are going to spend our vacation money remodeling our kitchen. Which is fun but I will miss going on a trip!! Where are you going in Mexico? We went to Riviera Maya on our honeymoon and loved it so much!
