While summers in the Pacific Northwest will always rein supreme, early fall is often overlooked and doesn’t get the love it should. Early fall in the Pacific Northwest is lovely. You still get some of the summer heat, but with the edge taken off. The past couple weeks it has been in the high 60’s, a little overcast and drizzly. The perfect weather to break out those fall transition outfits.
When the weather dips another 10 degrees, it will be time to break out the wool sweaters, layers, and boots with cozy socks. But, for now, you need more than your summer sun dress, but not quite sweater dress with tights.
These looks are perfect for fall transition outfits. For this time of year when you’re ready to look like fall but summer weather hasn’t quite left yet.

This dress is everything. It’s been a go to of mine for years, and for good reason. It’s perfect for all seasons and is so flattering. I love it for this fall transition look. For a more fitted bodycon look, order your regular size, which is what I did. If you want a more relaxed fit, size up one.

Give your summer dresses more life by throwing on a moto jacket and hat. What makes this dress so great as a fall dress is the color palette. The warm colors look perfct for fall.

Like the dress above, a great way of getting extra mileage out of your dresses is to change up your footwear. Instead of wearing this dress with strappy sandals, I changed it up, and threw on a great pair of knee high boots.

When in doubt for a fall transition look, throw on a hat! This look goes from summer to fall by adding a felt hat.
What’s your favorite way to transition your looks from summer to fall?

I used to do boots/bare legs with dresses but it would get soooo hot in Colorado that it was a tactic I only used when I needed a pedicure. I’d go back to sandals pretty quickly lol.
