I got on a turmeric kick after reading all the good things about it. Turmeric is an anti-inflamitory, antioxidant, and potentially even wards off cancer, heart disease and Alzheimer’s. I mean wow. Sign me up! Add that into my diet! Now!
So, I did what any good millennial does. I hopped on the internet and ordered the biggest bag of organic turmeric I could find. Thank you Amazon.
I was all excited, until it arrived. And, then it hit me. What the heck do I do with a pound of turmeric? A little bit goes a long way.
My friend, Bethany, who shares her WW diary on Instagram gave me some ideas for soups, and curry. But, I was still stumped with what else I could use this turmeric for.
Then I did a smoothie cleanse before heading on my trip to Florida, and something clicked, why not a turmeric smoothie?
It was a huge hit!
This turmeric smoothie tastes like one of those smoothies you get at Indian restaurants. It’s sweet with a little bit of a kick. The dash of vanilla is always my secret for green smoothies. It takes the bitterness from the greens and gives a lovely flavor.
It’s still going to take me a lot of recipes to get through this bag, but I’m determined!
Do you incorporate turmeric in your diet? If so, how have you included this superfood?
