I sound like a broken record, but is anyone else shocked that June is over already? How did that happen? And, with the end of June, it means another month of the Love Your Closet Challenge is in the books! Yeah, I know, I’m a week late, but thus is life.
Last month’s closet challenge was a classic striped shirt. The challenge was, once per week, to take a classic striped shirt out of your closet and wear it in a new and unique way. Shopping our own closets and falling back in love with what we already own!
I had fun with this month because a striped shirt goes with everything! I paired it with trendy pieces, other classic pieces, dressy pieces and super casual pieces. It goes with them all! It is such a versatile piece. It pairs with solids as well as other patterns as well since it’s so simple itself.
Love Your Closet Challenge
This is the all American, girl next door, classic casual spring or summer outfit right here. And, I love it. These jeans are the perfect mix of high waisted, a little loose, and are so dang cute paired with the classic striped shirt. I love mixing patterns and the stripes of the shirt with the gingham in the headband is such a classic pairing. And, of course, pair it all off with the perfect every day sandals. These are my go to all summer long.
With Black Denim
I know, most of the country isn’t wearing black jeans in June. It’s just too dang hot. But, June is mild here in the Pacific Northwest, so I went for it. This could be such a great look on cooler summer days or nights. I love the distressed denim because it feels like a contrast to the prim and proper striped shirt. Same with the bows on the shoes.
I don’t know why I was so against paperbag shorts for so long. This is a trend I took a long time to join in with. But, now that I have given them a chance, I love it! It’s fun mixing something so trendy, like the paperbag shorts, with something that is such a classic, the striped shirt.
With a Skirt
This look screams take me on vacation to me! And, boy I wish we could. Right now, the backyard is about all the vacation we are getting. 2020 is such a weird year. A strong color like red, pairs really well with the more subtle pattern in the shirt. I love how this came together.
Clearly, I like taking pictures in front of my new black fence! Check out the before and after pics! If you check out my Instagram feed right now, like all of my pictures are in the backyard, in front of that fence.
What item of clothing would you like to see be part of the challenge?
